DEAL! Lenovo Laptop for $359 With no Crapware!

Image result for microsoft storeNeed a laptop for someone going to school in the Fall?  Looking for an inexpensive yet powerful laptop that won’t run out of gas in 2 years?

Well, much to my surprise, the Microsoft Store has the Lenovo G50 on sale for only $359.  The G series is Lenovo’s entry level line, but they are still good computers (I would take this over a mid-line HP, Toshiba or Acer any day.)  Many of you are still not familiar with the Lenovo name.  Would you recognize it if I said “IBM PC”?  Lenovo bought the IBM PC (including laptop) division several years ago, and they still make high quality computers.  This one has an Intel Core i5 processor with 6GB of memory and a 500GB hard drove, webcam, high-speed wireless, bluetooth and a DVD burner that many new laptops no longer include.  And, it weighs less than 5 lbs.

Coming from the Microsoft Store, it’s part of their “signature series”, which means it is a pretty pure Windows installation without all the garbage the manufactures add.  That means it’s easier to get it set up to your liking or if you have me set it up for you, it costs you less because I don’t have to spend time uninstalling whatever crap was added.

There is a Microsoft Store here in Austin in The Domain.  If you’re not it Austin, their web site will tell you where the nearest store is.  Of course, you can always order it online and have it sent to your doorstep.

If you’re still running Windows XP (you’ve only got a month left), here’s one of your best chances to move to a safe operating system.  Here’s the link to Lenovo’s site:

Deal: Lenovo Laptop with Core i5 for $449

imageWhen it comes to standard laptops, I think you’re much better off with Windows 7 rather than Windows 8 (you really need a touchscreen to make the most of Windows 8.)  Well, it’s getting harder to find new PC’s with Windows 7 on them, but has a Lenovo G570 with an Intel Core i5 processor for only $449 with free shipping.  It has a 15.6” screen, 4GB of memory and a 500GB hard drive.  Of course it has a built-in webcam, DVD burner, memory card reader and something people often overlook, a very nice keyboard.

So if you’re looking for a last minute Christmas gift or maybe a last minute write-off for your business, check out the Lenovo G570:

Great Deal on a Lenovo Laptop

imageOfficeMax has the Lenovo IdeaPad Z580 on sale for only $479!  Lenovo makes some of the best laptops around (they bought the IBM PC division several years ago.)  They still make great computers and here is one that very recently you would have paid $600 for.  This has an Intel Core i5 processor (VERY nice) , 15.6” screen, 500 GB hard drive, 6GB of memory, webcam, 2 USB 3.0 ports and 2 USB 2.0 ports (USB 3.0 is the newer, MUCH faster USB specification.)  Oh, it has a great keyboard also (you’ll appreciate it once you type on it.)

You absolutely won’t go wrong with this laptop.  If there is a downside, it comes with the newest version of Windows (Windows 8) which I’m not wild about, but it very easy to get to a more familiar interface, so don’t let it put you off.

Here’s the link to their web site – it’s available in many stores too so you can touch it first:

Laptop Prices–They are a fallin’!

imageLenovo has a GREAT deal on their 14” Z series IdeaPad.  I think Lenovo is overall probably making the highest quality laptops today.  14” is big enough to easily read and yet small enough to be easily carried.  For $579 you get an Intel Core i5 processor at 2.5 GHz (tops out at over 3 GHz) so you’ll have no performance issues at all, 6 GB of memory, a 500 GB hard drive, webcam, Bluetooth, HDMI out and Windows 7.  Use the coupon code DOORBUSTRSZ470 to get the price.  This is a NICE laptop.  If you’re in the market, go for it.

Lenovo Deals on High-Power Laptops

imageLenovo has a deal on their Z series 15.6” laptops with the Intel Core i5 and i7 processors.  All the laptops have a HD display, 8GB of memory, a 500GB hard drive, webcam, DVD burner, built-in Wi-Fi, built-in Bluetooth and HDMI out.  The Core i5 is a dual-core processor that can clock up to 3.1 GHz and the Core i7 is a quad-core also able to run up to 3.1 GHz.

Lenovo makes excellent laptops and is known for paying attention to things like the keyboard and it’s feel.  The i5 version is $599 and the i7 is $699.  So if you’re thinking up upgrading to a nice laptop, I’d jump on these.

This Desktop Deal Has Been Raised From the Dead.

imageSorry, it wasn’t meant to be a pun here with Easter approaching, OK, I know many of you checked this out only to find out that they had sold out.  Well, as of the time of this post they now have 43 available (when I wrote about this a few days ago they had over 200 before selling out.)

I won’t repeat why this is such a great deal, go read it here:

Deal: Want to buy a new desktop? Wait no Longer!

This is the best deal I’ve run across in a long time.  If you have a 5 year old desktop and are even THINKING about replacing it – well think no longer, this is a no-brainer.

imageLenovo, the fine folks who bought the IBM PC division, are selling direct refurbished desktops at a GREAT price.  I don’t normally encourage buying refurbs unless they are coming from the original manufacturer with a FULL warranty.  Guess what?  This one does!

So check this out…. a desktop PC with Windows 7 that has an Intel Core i3 processor running at 3.2 GHz, a HUGE high-speed 1TB (that’s one terabyte or if you prefer, a thousand gigabytes) hard drive, 6GB of memory (in other words – a LOT), DVD burner, keyboard, mouse and a FULL 1-year warranty from Lenovo.

A laptop with these specs would probably cost you around $800 – $900 as a DEAL.  I assume you already have a monitor, but if you don’t there are lots of good deals to be had on 22” and larger monitors as well.

DEALS come and go, but one thing for sure, they NEVER last.  The deal I posted last week on the Dells is gone.  I think this is probably even a better deal than that.  Buy it or don’t – I don’t make anything on these, these are here for your benefit.  But this is a GREAT deal!  Get it here:

Lenovo (and Acer) Laptop Deals – $380 and $600

imageLenovo makes excellent laptops and here are two deals on them, one an entry level (but not too entry level) and a performance model.

Best Buy has a 15.6” Lenovo for $380 that has a dual-core Pentium processor, 2GB of memory, a 320GB hard drive, DVD burner, webcam, fingerprint reader, memory card reader, fast wireless-n and Windows 7.  Not bad at all and a great price.  Here’s the link:

imageOffice Depot has this 14” Lenovo ThinkPad Edge with an Intel Core i5 processor for those of you who need more oomph in your computer.  This is a machine you could edit music and videos with, work with huge spreadsheets, etc. without choking it down.  The smaller screen makes it a little easier to tote around.  In addition to the i5 processor, it comes with 4GB of fast memory, a 500GB hard drive, 3 USB ports plus an external eSATA port, HDMI output, wireless-n and of course, Windows 7.    Here’ the link to the Office Depot page:

imageAnother performance machine at an excellent price is the Acer TimelineX at Amazon.  This is a 15.6” black brushed aluminum laptop with a claimed 8 hours of battery life (probably will really be less but even 6 hours would be great at this price.)  It comes with a multi-gesture keypad (with capabilities similar to a smartphone like an Android or iPhone), a 1.3 megapixel HD webcam, a faster Core i5 processor, 4GB of memory, a huge 640GB hard drive, DVD burner, wireless-n, media card reader, 4 USB ports, HDMI output, Windows 7 and Office 2010 starter edition.  Here’s the Amazon page:

So if you’re in the market to replace that desktop with something a little more portable or that old laptop that is just limping to the finish line, take a look at these.

imageIf you’re interested in a laptop that can run all your software fast, this is a great deal.  Lenovo’s G460 is a 14” laptop that normally sells for $900.  It’s on sale for $849, but when you enter the ecoupon code USPG9X0303 during checkout, the price plummets for only $569.  It comes with the latest Intel i5 processor, 4 GB of memory, a big 500 GB hard drive, a fingerprint reader, bluetooth, DVD burner, webcam and Windows 7.  This machine will be MUCH faster than anything you’re using now, and it will even handle Photoshop and video editing if you want it to (that software doesn’t come with it – no phone calls please.)  Shipping is free!  Here’s the link to Lenovo’s site (don’t forget the ecoupon code at checkout):

DEAL: Lenovo 15.6” Laptop $399 at Office Depot

imageOffice Depot has this Lenovo (they bought the IBM PC division a few years ago) for only $399.  This is a good general purpose laptop for email, web-surfing, YouTube, etc.  If you plan on importing and editing videos then you may want to get a laptop with more power, but for most people this will serve you well at a great price.  It come with plenty of memory (4 GB), a 320 GB hard drive, DVD burner, webcam, numeric keypad and wireless-n built in.  It’s available online and in-store, so if the store near you has it in stock, you might as well check it out in person.
