Today I received an email from a business client saying they have a new computer arriving this week but it comes with Windows 11 and could I move it to Windows 10 when it arrives.

Immediately I knew they ordered the wrong computer. They ordered a consumer line desktop from Dell rather than a business line computer, because the business line computers still come with Windows 10.

So I called to ask what they bought and it turns out they spent over $2,000 on this computer. When I asked how it was going to be used, I went online and found them a business line computer that already comes with Windows 10 and includes a 3-year warranty rather than the 1-year they got with their purchase. The best part is I saved them over $1,000 and they are going to get it the same time the other computer would have arrived.

Last week I had a client buy a Mac Mini, but when it was time to set it up it turns out to not be what she needed, so she returned it but has to wait for what she needs to arrive.

The moral of the story is CALL ME before you buy something, I’ll make sure you get what you need and try to save you money at the same time. I don’t charge anything to do this, so before you decide to do your own research and then buy the wrong computer (or printer), give me a call. Like I say: “Everybody needs a geek in their life”.
