“I Hate Windows – It Never Changes”. “I Hate Windows – They’re Changing Everything” What’s a Company to Do?

imageWindows 8 is beginning to peek out in versions you can’t even call “beta”, but that hasn’t stopped the criticism.  The look of Microsoft Windows hasn’t changed dramatically in over 15 years, hence a lot of complaining.  Now there are indications that the new Windows 8 won’t look like Windows 7, and guess what – people are complaining.  So far it looks like Microsoft is actually going to give you a choice (try to get a “choice” from Apple.)  There is the “Metro” interface that is tile based like that on Windows Phone 7, and then there is the Vista/7 interface that most in the last few years are familiar with.  What to do – what to do?

Windows 8 is beginning to get out to the tech community like yours truly, but I’ll do my best to let you know what I think this means for the average user.  I have clients who’ve had a hard time going from XP to Windows 7, so depending on the actual release of Windows 8 next year and your computing needs, moving to Windows 8 may or may not be a good idea.

I’ll keep you posted.  Just keep checking back in – as always I’ll do my best no to waste your time.

MagicJack for iPhone Let You Make FREE Calls

imageI’m sure you’ve all seen the commercials for the “Magic Jack”.  Well, if you have an iPhone or iPad you can download the MagicJack app and call anyone you want in the U.S. or Canada over wi-fi or 3G for free.

Basically it feels like a competitor to Skype, but I’m not sure it has the call quality that Skype does.

None the less you can download it for free via iTunes and give it a try.
